Wii updated the Shopping Channel

:

Your firmware has been updated to allow for some tweaks and changes to the Wii, and to deploy a new rev of the Shopping Channel.

The Wii Menu looks a little different with Nintendo’s changes. A digital clock appears under the Menu, while the Forecast Channel shows the current local conditions (in a general sense) in the Menu button.

That may be useful if you and the Wii have been confined to a windowless basement, but everyone else may want to just peak outside the window to see if it’s raining or not.

The Vooks blog also listed the changes for the Shopping Channel, including these:

- New Welcome screen detailing 4 Recommended Titles and the points they cost (gone is the title screen bar that had linkable games)
- Titles You’ve Downloaded was moved to the main shop menu
- New ways to browse
- Popular Titles (2 pages of 10 and includes launch games so not only based on recent info)

One thing that wasn’t listed is the fact that you can now use a keyboard to send messages to your buddies. Can’t use it on the internet channel yet though….
