Nintendojo.com has posted an article that a doctor has prescribed a therapy routine to a 77-year-old tennis semipro which includes playing the tennis game in Wii Sports.
The name of the former tennis semipro player is Jerry Pope. He suffered a stroke a few months ago and he is now playing Wii tennis and more real life tennis to keep him healthy for life.
He is a member of the U.S. Tennis Association’s Northern Hall of Fame and he played tennis for 60 years.
He said that Wii Sports is the only video game that he has ever played and he suggests that there was a feature in Wii Tennis which gives resistance to the swing of the players when the ball hit the racquet. He will probably buy an upcoming tennis game for the Wii which is a much improved version of Wii tennis.
I am not surprised that he said that Wii Sports is the only video game that he has ever played because a lot of people would probably say the same thing because of the Wii’s innovative motion sensing controls.
