Wii Helps Game Sales Skyrocket in 2007

The Wii helped video games sales in the United States achieve an all time high in 2007.

The biggest push came from the 1.4 million units sold during the holiday season, capping off the 6.3 million unit total for the entire year.

Some credit must go to Microsoft and Sony as well with 4.6 million XBox 360 units being sold and 2.8 million PS3 units.

8.6 billion dollars worth of games were sold in 2007 - an increase of 34% from 2006.

Wii Play alone sold 4.1 million copies (i’m sure being packaged with a remote didn’t hurt).
