Nintendo and Sony have become involved in a legal dispute involving the technology of their controllers.
They are not battling each other, but rather a company called Copper Innovations Group (CIG) who claims it patented the “Hand Held Computer Input Apparatus and Method†technology all the way back in 1996.
CIG filed lawsuits against Nintendo and Sony over the Wii’s Remote and Nunchuck, and the PS3′s SixAxis controller. A Blu-Ray remote was also named.
Maybe I’m wrong, but to me it sounds like someone just trying to capitalize on the success of other companies.
I mean 1996? What has CIG developed in the last 12 years?
The suits were filed in December.
