On the Everybody Votes Channel, Nintendo recently asked Wii owners if they they are using a widescreen TV when playing the Wii.
The results say that 48.8% of the people who voted chose the “yes” option while 51.2% chose the “no, it’s different” option. These results were calculated after one and a half weeks of voting.
Wii owners who live in the UK gave the most responses on the “yes” option. Based on the results, approximately three out of every four people from the UK have a widescreen TV.
The second place that had the most votes for the “yes” option was Finland. Japan was located at third place and Australia in 17th place. The US was one place ahead of New Zealand and in 20th place. The people from Guatamala received last place honors and the article from aussie-nintendo says that almost two thirds of the people there own a different type of television.
I was a little surprised by the results and if I had predicted the results to this poll, I would have said that about 40% to 45% of the voters would choose yes and 55% to 60% would choose the other option.
I do not have a widescreen TV but I am definitely thinking about buying one. However, unlike most consumers, I would not buy a Plasma or an LCD TV. I would rather buy a widescreen CRT to save money.
