Who Plans On Getting Wii Fit?

I tend to write “articles” when I post on Wii Blog. Today I thought I would try something different. Seeing as how one of the Wii’s biggest releases is set to launch today, Wii Fit.

I want to know how many of you plan on purchasing Wii Fit Today. On top of that I would like to know your reason behind the purchase. Are you buying it to get into shape? Are you buying Wii Fit for its’ interactive possibilities with future titles? Or are you buying so you can watch your parents make fools of themselves on a balance board?

Please feel free to post your comments, as I’m very curious to see the mindset behind consumers making a Wii Fit purchase today.

I purchased a Wii Fit at midnight at my local Walmart. I had intended it for a present for my husband for our anniversary (we’re both working on getting in shape and thought this would be fun)and when I found out you couldn’t buy it anywhere else, that’s when I went on my ‘sit in’.

Glad I got it. We’ve already started on it – and both of us enjoy it greatly. :)

I got mine 5 days ago, and me and my GF both like it. The balace games are fun, and some of the aerobics are quite nice, too.

We both do all exercises together- so I actually miss a feature: Some kind of “hot-seat-mode” where you can switch quickly between two Players.

The balance board is really precise, stiff and I hope it will be used in other games…

    @ Lori

yea, I’ve had my fair share of sit-ins, and over night line waiting

    @TinChan

you said it’s precise and stiff, is this on carpet?

  4. Lori Says:

JohnnyV – it works on our carpet – and yes, it’s pretty precise. I’m amazed. And I’ve had a lot of fun with it already.

Buying today — my wife pre-ordered. While we are interested in the exercise aspect of it, our primary motivation is fun. If it happens to help us get healthier, nice bonus.

Got the 2yr old twins, 6yr old, husband and myself up at 0530 today to be at the store when they opened for our wii fit. It is GREAT! I love it all! My parents came over tonight to check it out…Gramma hula hooping was a HOOT! We got it for fun…but who knows, maybe this is what will get us motivated to be more fit. If nothing else to be #1 !

ha, that’s one of the greatest things about the Wii… I dont think I’ve ever seen a system that had an age range from 5-70 before…last thanksgiving, my grandma and I played Wii bowling together…it’s the first time I’d ever seen her play a video game

  8. JB Says:

Unfortunately, I’m too heavy for the Wii Fit. I have lost about 25 pounds in the last two months, so I’m working my way to it!

  9. Nash Says:

@ JB – good, job and keep up the good work!!!

I preordered and received the wii fit on launch day and will be saving it for Christmas. Yes, I can wait that long.
The wii is such a good ‘family’ console and the balance board was one (of many) reason why I chose the wii console over its competitors.
I’ll lower the age range to 4 as my 4year old daughter catches on pretty darn quick!

  11. Jen Says:

I purchased mine on launch day and couldn’t wait to get home and set it up. I had a tough time walking away from it to go wait in line for Indy 4.

My partner and I are hoping it will get us couch potatoes in shape. So far we are trying to get some good 30 min. workouts in at least everyother day if not every day.
