Virtual Console Release – Double Download Edition

Today’s Virtual Console releases came out of no where. I can’t tell you the last time I downloaded two virtual console games in one day. That will all end when I get home and download Mario Golf, and Shining Force II.

Shining Force II (Sega Genesis, 800 Wii Points) – This is one of the few games that truly got me into the RPG genre. It’s one of the forefathers of the SRPG genre, and a sequel that drastically improved on its predecessor. It has an epic, and wonderfully paced story that will keep you hooked until the conclusion.

If you have extra points lying around then you’ll be hard pressed to find a game more worthy than Shining Force II.

Mario Golf (N64, 1,000 Wii Points) – It would be a rare thing to find a game other than Shining Force II that would be worthy of a download alongside it. Mario Golf is just that game though, as it’s still in my mind the best Nintendo sports game to ever be released.

Mario Golf would be the beginning of the sports themed trend for Nintendo, atleast in recent years. There’s a good reason for that, because Mario Golf was an absolute delight to play. There’s enough modes, characters, and gameplay to rival EA’s Tiger Woods 09, and this game was released on the Nintendo 64.
