VGChartz Making Claims About The Conduit’s First Week Performance

Before providing you this data, it should be noted these are preliminary numbers. They aren’t anywhere close to official, so let’s all chill for the moment. VGChartz’s figures suggest that The Conduit sold around 100,000 copies in its first week of retail. Here is an excerpt from the article…

The early word from several of our retail sources is that The Conduit from High Voltage Studios is performing similarly to a game in a completely unrelated genre – Punch Out!! which released in mid May. Punch Out!! actually was not even the biggest new Wii title of that May week because of EA Sports Active. Punch Out!! sold about 100,000 units on Wii week one, placing fifth for the week in our weekly chart. We have been informed that The Conduit should be at 100,000 or so week one, even though it may end a little lower in the top ten ranking then Punch Out!! did due to a larger number of high profile games releasing this week.

It should also be noted that GameSpy, who handles Nintendo Wii’s servers have been impressed with the traffic that The Conduit has received so far.

I’m really hoping that The Conduit performs well, just to see High Voltage create a much improved sequel. After playing more of the game last night, I think with some vast improvements this game could be of high quality.
