Trio of Sci-Fi Games Join the Virtual Console

This weeks Virtual Console game releases all hail from the Sci-Fi genre. The games are Cybernator, Alien Storm, and Monster Lair.

Cybernator, Alien Storm, and Monster Lair

Cybernator (Super Nintendo – 800 Wii points) The game takes place in the future, during a time when Earth’s fossil fuels have begun to dwindle. There is a massive war taking place all over the earth for control of these resources, as well as for territorial rights on the moon. The two warring governments, the Axis and Federation, have the ability to go into space and create giant space stations and weapons of mass destruction.

Alien Storm (Sega – 800 Wii points) The aliens are invading Earth, and it’s up to the “Alien Busters” to wipe them out and destroy their creator. The Busters consist of Karen, Garth and Scooter. Each one of them have their own unique weapons and special attacks. However these differences are all just cosmetic as they all play virtually identical to one another.

Monster Lair (Turbografx17 – 800 Wii points) You play a green-haired boy hero or a pink-haired girl hero who must attack the invaders that attempt to collect weapons and use them to destroy the land.

Overall I’d say this is a very lackluster week of game releases… what do you guys think?
