The list of the top video game sales for the week of August 6 - 12 in Japan has been released. The data is based on a study by Media Create.
For the Nintendo Wii, the first game on the list is Mario Party 8 and it sold 103,889 copies during that week. It ranked at number 2 just behind SD Gundam G Generation Cross Drive for the Nintendo DS portable gaming system.
The second highest ranked game for the Wii is Wii Sports. It sold 28,211 copies and the total number of copies that were sold for this game since it was released in Japan is now over 2 million. It is 8th on the list.
Wii Play barely made the top ten list and it is sitting on the last spot. It sold 26,960 copies.
A Square Enix game for the Wii titled Dragon Quest Sword is located at the 22nd spot. From 11th place to 50th place, the number of copies that were sold for each game is not listed in cubed3’s article.
Mobile Suit Gundam 0079 for the Wii made the top 30. It is in 29th place.
The last game on the list for the Nintendo Wii system is a baseball game called Powerful Pro Baseball.
Besides the top video game sales, a report has also been released on the top hardware sales for the same week that I specified above.
The second spot goes to the Nintendo Wii. It sold 65,120 systems. The top hardware sale, as usual, belongs to the Nintendo DS portable system and it sold 147,205 systems.
