The True Wii Media Downloads

It has recently come to my attention of a site claiming you can download movies, music, and games for direct download to the Wii Entertainment console. Let me warn you that this site is completely fake. The Nintendo Wii does not have the storage capacity to hold much more then the virtual console games and new channels Nintendo produces.

I took a look at the site upon a comment left by one of our readers. After fighting to get the site to load I went through various areas of the site. Reading the FAQ is probably the most interesting part of the site. Here is a little excerpt:

With our services, you will be able to download all your favorite movies to your PC and transfer them to your Wii!

That is completely false. There is no magic software that allows you to download or transfer movies and music to your Wii. I dug a little deeper and found that a membership fee is $49.99 one time with a 56 day money back guarantee. After reading some customer feed back I found that customers who bought the membership had troubles from the start. The site does not return messages sent about canceling accounts or returning said fee.

Wii Media Downloads site membership takes you to a forum containing free information and software easily found on the net. Even their “Special Members Only Downloads” takes you to a list of torrent sites. The software the site claims as their own personal proprietary software is nothing more then internet shareware from Red Kawa called Wii Media Center X. Red Kawa has recently discontinued development of this software. So take my advice and save your time and money. Listen to your mp3 or movie files on your PC or other stream home theater system. If you just can’t leave without a streaming Wii then try Red Kawa it’s free and not a money sinkhole.
