Way, way back in November of last year, I mentioned a game that I deemed worthy of being released in the US. That game was Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. If you haven’t seen video of it, there’s gameplay shown off in the link above. If you’re familiar with the Marvel vs. Capcom series; that’s the basic style of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.
According to a tip on Nintendo Everything , the upcoming issue of Nintendo Power has confirmed the release of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom for the NA region. Actually there’s going to be new features with the upcoming version… read more »
Are you as confused as I was when I wrote out that title? Well, as hard as it is to believe, Han Solo will be making an appearance in Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings. Granted it’s just a different skin, but still. As mama always said — ‘That just ain’t natural’.
To view the entire Han Solo action in its entirety, check out the video. Below are some screenshots of the unholy union of Han Solo and a whip/six shooter.
According to an interview with creative director of Red Steel 2, Jason Vandenberghe, the game will require Wii Remote MotionPlus in order to be played. Here’s the direct quote from Nintendo Power (via: Nintendo Dpad)…“It’s a huge risk. We have no idea what the penetration rate for Wii MotionPlus will be. We assume high. We would like it to be high. I would love to say to you that it’ll be compatible with just a regular controller, but the gameplay simply isn’t there without MotionPlus. That core experience just isn’t there without it.”
After pondering over the news, it’s quite an interesting position that Ubisoft has put themselves in. It’s definitely risky, but sometimes the big gambles pay off. In essence, Ubisoft is banking on the notion that MotionPlus is going to take off and reach Wii Balance Board like numbers. I’d say that the odds are in their favor, but to make it completely exclusive?
I think this adds even more hype to Red Steel 2. The original game was bragged about as allowing insanely realistic sword fighting gameplay. It didn’t quite live up to that standard. Now they’ve created a game that can’t be played without the 1:1 peripheral. This does nothing but show that Ubisoft might be living up to their promises this time around. Hopefully there’s a slew of footage shown off at E3.
Around a week ago I mentioned an electronic skinning service called MyTego. It’s a site that provides the means to customize the exterior of your electronic devices. MyTego was kind enough to let me give the service a try, and I came away quite impressed.
You can choose to use one of their pre-made designs, or import images of your own. In honor of the Blackest Night series coming out this summer, I decided to do a Green Lantern design. Below are photos of the results; I’m very pleased with how it turned out and easily recommend their service if you’re wanting to customize your Wii.
There’s very few things in this world that you can never get enough of. Pizza flavored Pringles, and Contra. The world will always need the insane two player action of Contra, if nothing else to provide hours of intense challenge. That few have escaped without breaking a couple of controllers.
Not too much is known about the game at this time. The release date for Japan is May 12th. It will be releasing on WiiWare for the tune of a 1000 Wii Points. There also happens to be screenshots available..enjoy.
Oh god, do we have to go through this same thing again? Oh well, enjoy the video. Let’s just hope this doesn’t catapult someone into an EA job this time…
