Nintendo Releases Fiscal Year Report….1 Trillion?

Nintendo Fiscal Report 2009

If anyone has had experience reading fiscal reports, or anything of the like you’ll know that figures tend to be abbreviated. That’s usually because it takes up a lot of space to write out all those zeros. Generally, the company will write out something like: (Thousand Dollars) — 3,000…and if you multiply those two together, you get $3,000,000.

Nintendo had to do something like that in their report. Specifically with their net sales numbers. Instead of abbreviating with a thousand dollars it was with ‘millions’ of yen. The equation reads like this: (Million Yen) — 1,838,622…Ok, all you math scholars out there, what does that equal to?

1.838 Trillion Yen (bold for emphasis)

Nintendo Download: Penguins & Friends with Tower Toppler

Ok, a Virtual Console and WiiWare release to report about today. Come on guys, help feed the penguins. If Morgan Freeman didn’t make you love them, perhaps this game will…

WiiWare

Penguins & Friends – Hey! That’s My Fish! (Gammick Entertainment, 1-4 players, Rated E for Everyone, 800 Wii Pointsâ„¢): The penguins are hungry and need your help. Catch all the fish you can before someone steals them from you. Strategy is fundamental in this exciting game. Keep moving ahead of the other penguins so you don’t get trapped, and try to get to the ice floes that hold more fish. One to four players can play Penguins & Friends at the same time, provided they can handle the polar cold. The board is made up of ice blocks with a set number of fish under them. The ice blocks are hexagonal and form a structure like a beehive. The starting position of the ice blocks can change, creating different game boards.

Virtual Console

Tower Toppler (Commodore 64, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): Weird things are happening on Planet Nebulus. Someone or something has begun building huge towers on the sea floor without a construction license. Your mission is to ascend each of the eight cylindrical towers, passing various obstacles along the way, and to trigger the tower’s destruction mechanism to demolish the evil threat. Praised upon its original 1987 release for its graphical innovation, this is considered to be the most outstanding game from Hewson. Don’t miss out on this classic favorite.

Nintendo adds new titles to the Nintendo DSi Shop and the Wiiâ„¢ Shop Channel at 9 a.m. Pacific time on Mondays. Users with broadband Internet access can redeem Wii Points or Nintendo DSi Points to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel. Nintendo DSi Points can be purchased in the Nintendo DSi Shop. A Nintendo Points Cardâ„¢ can be purchased at retail locations. All points from one Nintendo Points Card must be redeemed in either the Nintendo DSi Shop or the Wii Shop Channel. They are not transferable and cannot be divided between the two systems.

Great Nintendo Commercials From Yester-Year

Commercials and advertisements are something that we tend to grumble over (Just get 24 back on so I can watch Jack Bauer save us from nuclear holocaust!!). Until they’re about 2-3 years old, then we can look back at the good ol’ days. The WHASSUPP!! commercials..ahhh..give me those times again. Ok, not really but here are some great Nintendo commercials chronicling how the company has grown through the years in terms of advertisement.

Thanks to Gameplayer.com.au for doing the hard work in finding these classics…

Punch-Out! Site Is Live…And Who Is This?

Punch-Out! Site

Above is a picture of the official Punch-Out! website. You’ll notice the obvious additions that most gaming sites have. Release date, some Flash interactions, Doc Louis trying to get you to sign up with Nintendo Club. Oh wait, what’s that? The blackened out body of a boxer not yet announced.

Just who could it be? Judging by all the features, he’s unlike any boxer I’ve seen in the Punch-Out! games. The only boxer who comes close in body, and hair style is Aran Ryan from Super Punchout. It’s possible it will be a whole new boxer though. Below is a picture of Aran Ryan…

Mr T. and Will Wright Gonna Mess You Up On Nintendo Wii

Mr T Nintendo Wii Game

I knew it was bound to happen eventually, and I’ve been waiting for this day for quite some time. Mr. T will be getting his own video game release. Not to confuse potential buyers, the game is simply called ‘Mr. T’. Did it need to be called anything else?

MyTego – Customize Your Wii

If you’re someone who loves to customize your gadget’s exterior, including your Nintendo Wii then take a look at MyTego.com. It’s a skin customization site that has many different devices available to choose from.

If you’re wanting to skin a Wii, you can choose to just skin one side or do a complete wrap around. MyTego provides their own images but you can upload your images to use as well.

They’ve graciously allowed me to try the service out. When my skin does come in I’ll post pictures to show you the outcome. I’ll be counting the days until my Green Lantern customized Wii is sitting on my shelf.

Here’s an example of a Mario Kart skinned Wii:
