IGN have acquired the latest word on the Wii-exclusive horror adventure Sadness from developers Nibris.
Unfortunately for now at least, the Polish-based developers are keeping much of the games storyline and concept under wraps. Adam Artur, one of the script writers for Sadness, was only able to reveal “Sadness is a novelty on the video games market. Both the story and the presentation of the game is going to be a surprise for a player,” he said.
“You must forgive us the fact that we present such scarce information about Sadness, but we hope that once you play it you will understand our circumspection. We do not want to spoil the fun”, Artur continued.
However, Nibris were able to divulge that the game will not include the familar HUD display. Instead, the developers are hoping to portray a focus on realism, much like Ubisofts King Kong. “We are aiming at completely intuitive behaviour of the player - just as in life. Every choice a player makes is essential - if you experience traumatic events in your life, they are with you all the time. This will be the same in Sadness. We want the player to feel that he is participating in events, not merely playing a game”, said designer Piotr Bielatowicz.
Sadness is scheduled to ship sometime in the latter quarter of 2007, exclusively for Nintendo Wii.
