Peter Moore talks about Wii

:

It’s common knowledge in the gaming community by now that Microsoft’s Peter Moore seems to hold a keen interest in Nintendo Wii, after his comments during E3 last month.

Now, in an interview with Gamertag Radio, Moore insists he is a “huge fan” of Nintendo’s upcoming system. Although he admittedly referred to the new machine as a “party console”, he stated that “Sonic was almost built for the controller because it was so intuitive”, speaking of Sonic Wild Fire, which is to ship exclusively for the Wii.

“…Shoulder buttons, triggers, analog sticks, d-pads, I mean, there’s a lot going on there when you compare it to the old Atari 2600 button-and-stick, which everybody could pick up and have some fun with… Clearly, I think the Wii is trying to get back to those days,” he continued.

“I’m a huge fan of any kind of innovation you can try and do that will make a broader reach for games, because as an industry we’ve got to do that,” he said, speaking on the Wii’s unique controller. “We’ve got to bring more people in that are currently maybe intimidated when they look at that controller.”
