Pix'n Love and Aurora Game Studio first announced the project back in 2021.

If you cast your mind back to April 2021, you may vaguely remember reading the news that Pix'n Love and Aurora Game Studio were working on a revival of the SNES title Nightmare Busters for PC and consoles.

At the time, the two companies shared a bunch of pre-production screenshots of the project, as well as a number of potential features including redone graphics, level design, music, and UI, in addition to a two-player mode, an additional option for speedrunners, and much, much more. However, nothing ever really seemed to come of the project, with the game pretty much dropping off the map in the years since, except for a rare demo showing at Animasia, a French festival celebrating Asian culture in 2023.

Read the full article on timeextension.com

34 Years Ago, Nintendo Begged Fans Not To "Risk" Importing SNES Consoles From Japan

"But before you rush out to buy one, consider these facts".

The concept of importing video games from other regions has become less popular in recent years thanks to the introduction of region-free software and release dates being much closer together than they were many decades ago. In the modern era, many games will launch internationally on the exact same day, something that was largely unheard of during the '80s and '90s.

Importing games and hardware from Japan was a big deal once upon a time, largely thanks to the fact that Western consumers often had to wait months (if not years) to get their hands on the latest consoles and games.

Read the full article on timeextension.com

Turns Out Ken Kutaragi Has A Nintendo PlayStation Kicking Around In A Cupboard

He IS the father of PlayStation, so it figures.

Ten years ago, the mythical 'Nintendo PlayStation' became a solid reality when a prototype was discovered.
SNES Consoles Appear To Be Getting Faster As They Age

"The results we have show it is real".

With vintage tech, the assumption is that as the years pass by, functionality is impacted by the fact that the parts inside are running way beyond their intended lifespan.

However, it seems that the SNES is an exception to this rule, as it has been discovered that Nintendo's 16-bit system is actually getting faster as it grows older—at least when it comes to audio.

Read the full article on timeextension.com
