Re: A Forgotten GBA & DS Gem Is Getting A Revival On Consoles & PC Later This Year

@RextheSheep Not only the GBA version of Aero the Acro-Bat, they rerelased the entire series in 2024. Granted it's only 4 games, but still. I have the four and overall my experience with them is a satisfactory one (save for Aero 1 SNES, but that's probably more on the emulator they use there compared to the rest).

As for Aero GBA itself, it has some audio issues that, as far as I know, haven't been resolved. The music doesn't sound 1:1 to the GBA release. The jukebox in the Extras has the shuffle and repeat song buttons mixed, meaning if you activate shuffle you get repeat song and vice versa.

Other than that, I don't think I've found anything gamebreaking on Aero GBA specifically. Though I feel the UI that Ratalaika uses for these rereleases could be better.

Anyway, as for this game. From the description and images it kinda sound a bit like Metroid Fusion from an isometric perspective. Depending on the price I might give it a go one day.

@PZT It's a re-release, not a remaster. A ROM in a wrapper with some QOL features is more than enough for a relatively niche title like this as long as the emulation is solid.

Not everything needs to be "remastered" (whatever that even means half the time — we borrowed the word from other media without paying much attention to what it actually means).

By Razieluigi

@PZT I imagine the features will mirror the other releases from this publisher. They did another GBA game recently, the GBA remake of Aero the Acro-Bat, but I haven't checked it out.

(I have some of their Sega and Turbografx games on Switch though and the experience there is good quality.)
