Original Square content for Wii?

It would seem that the possiblity for seeing some original content from Square-Enix on Nintendo Wii is stronger than ever.

At least, that’s what we’re lead to believe after an interview with VP Hiromichi Tanaka. Speaking on the Final Fantasy series, which is to see a refurbished version of Crystal Chronicles on Wii, the Square-Enix boss stated the following:-

“… there are possibilities that we will make other games for Wii as well; original games, not necessarily remakes as with this game. It really all depends on what kind of game we are looking to make. For example, Final Fantasy XIII is coming on PS3. So, it really depends on what kind of game we are trying to create. And then we’ll choose the platform - PS3, Wii or 360.”

As it stands the company are developing for all major consoles, although it has to be said that more original content for the Wii - as opposed to ports - could only be a good thing.
