No Burnout for Wii

Last week Wii Blog reported the possibility of a Burnout title coming to Nintendo’s next-gen console, the Wii, although it appears this is no longer to be the case.

While featured on German website Nfreaks as an in-development title, publishers Electronic Arts yesterday announced development of Burnout 5 only for PS3 and Xbox 360.

According to the company, Burnout 5 is conceived as “a complete reinvention…built from the ground up for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360″, a spokesperson said.

At the present time there appear to be no plans to bring the series to Nintendo Wii, and considering the next installment is supposed to be a grand reinvention, it is likely the Wii’s lack of graphical muscle could be attributed to this decision.
