Nintendo’s Big E3 Surprise

:

In case you haven’t been keeping up, Nintendo has promised a big surprise at E3 this year. Reggie Fils-Aime has promised a title that will be for the “gamers”. Of course speculations have been showing up all over the internet. The biggest one is finding the clues in the moon, of the most recent Nintendo Power magazine.

Reggie Fils-Aime
Oh Reggie Why Do You Tempt Us?

While looking at the image, I really couldn’t make out anything, except maybe the moon itself is the clue. Yeah, that’s right, what Nintendo character is shaped like the moon? Kirby, DUH, it’s so obvious, the moon is a circle, Kirby is a circle, so obviously a Kirby game is on the way. Or wait, maybe the moon is a metaphorical object, representing space, and what Nintendo character has a space setting? Star Fox, so maybe we have a new Star Fox game to look forward to.

While speculating can be a fun endeavor, it’s really hard to say by looking at a moon image as to what it could be. My common sense tells me that we really will have a Star Fox game be announced at E3. My deduction didn’t come from a moon crater or anything like that, but other clues I’ve picked up on. The first is that we’ve had pretty much all the popular Nintendo characters getting their own game on the Wii. Mario, Samus, Link, Donkey Kong, and now I believe it will be Star Fox’s turn. Also, if you look at Super Smash Bros. Brawl (SSBB), there were three characters represented from the Star Fox series. There are very few coincidences in life, especially those effecting making money. What’s the best way to get people ready for a game release? Putting characters from that game into another title to start the hype.

While I have no actual proof for Star Fox being the “big announcement”, I just have a feeling that’s what we have to look forward to. Since everyone else is putting their $.02 in on Reggie’s announcement, I figured I’d add some more change to the pot.

What do you think the big announcement will be?
