Live Action Samus Aran is Glorious

Metroid: Other M has been available since August and I showed this to a friend who had never even seen it. So if you never have, it features a live-action Samus Aran and its actress is a dead-ringer.

The music track used is a Massive Attack’s “Paradise Circus”, which suits the mood of the video with emotional crescendos. Simply one of the silkiest TV spots ever.

Stay tuned for some first impressions of the game right here on WiiBlog.

Final Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Characters Revealed

There have been some amazing holiday seasons in video game history, but I think for the Nintendo Wii 2009 could be it’s best yet. We’ve got New Super Mario Bros. Wii to look forward to, and the upcoming fighter Tatsunoko vs. Capcom soon after. If you’re giddy with anticipation then you should be glad to know that the final characters of the game have been revealed.

First, is Joe the Condor which if you’re a fan of Gatchaman should help complete the roster from the anime series. I personally must plead ignorance as I’ve never watched one episode of the series. Here’s a character design screen for those who are jonesin’ for some Joe the Condor.

The second character reveal will have you screaming with delight if you’re a fan of the Mega Man X series. The fan favorite, Zero, will be swinging his green energy sword all over some chumps come January. After watching his gameplay video, he will play completely different than Mega Man which is a treat, because of their different play styles throughout the years. Below is a character screen, and gameplay video.

New Gameplay Information For Red Steel 2

For many Red Steel 2 is the most anticipated game of the year. It’s the first title to work exclusively with Wii Remote MotionPlus, and actually beat Nintendo to the punch with that. During a Q&A with fans on their forum, we learn a bit more about the upcoming FPS title. Here’s some of the important stuff:

– There will be no run button, as the character’s movement speed is set to run by default. Movement speeds compared to Metroid (Prime 3) are made.

– There will be no crouching of any kind in the game as well. Since this game is more about up front battles, crouching was seen as not needed since it’s a move based on taking cover and hiding.

– The developer hints at, pretty strongly that the ability to mark and kill multiple enemies will be returning to Red Steel 2.

– The block ability will allow players to block bullets using the (A) button. There’s also an active block feature that will give the ability to fire bullets back to the enemies.

Speak of the devil. As I was typing this up, IGN dropped a new Red Steel 2 trailer on us. This one reveals a character named Payne who may or may not be your friend. Enjoy.

(New) New Super Mario Bros. Wii Gameplay Video

Ok, enough of speculative rumors and teaser images/trailers. Here’s a gameplay trailer for a game we know is coming out this year, and will feature Mario, Luigi, and two toad dudes. This video was taken at PAX and shows off a bit of Yoshi gameplay. And dare I say the stage with the falling and flipping components look like the old school Mario difficulty I like.
