Nintendo Wii Going … “Mad”

:

A couple of days ago, there was leaked video footage of a game called “Mad World”. Hopefully you were lucky enough to see it on YouTube, before it got yanked. I say, “lucky”, because the video showed a very intriguing title that will be releasing for the Wii.

The visuals look like a very “Sin City” inspired atmosphere. The only colors that were represented in the video were, black, white, and red (for blood). The action looked very gruesome, and there was already massive amounts of blood in the gameplay. There was a feature released on the game through Famitsu magazine. In it, we learn of Mad World, which is being developed by Platinum Games, and SEGA publishing.

Platinum Games has a very interesting history. The founders of the company were once a part of Capcom’s Clover Studio. This branch of Capcom’s developers were responsible for critically acclaimed titles, such as, Okami, Viewtiful Joe, and God Hand. Unfortunately, none of these games made very much money, so Capcom decided to shut down the studio. Luckily, they all stayed together to form Platinum Games.

Very few details have been released as of yet. Other than the visual style which has been leaked, and weapons such as chain saws and street lamps will make an appearance. The title is as for right now scheduled for a TBA 2009 release. Even though the video is down, luckily there have been screen shots that have surfaced, provided by WiiFanboy.
