Nintendo May Outsource, Increase Wii Production

Wiis may be easy go, but they certainly haven’t been easy come – it’s often been difficult to locate any at all. That problem may become a thing of the past, however, as Digital Spy’s David Gibbon reports, “Nintendo has approached two Taiwanese manufacturers as it plans to outsource Wii components in a bid to increase output of the next-gen console.”

He then continues, “Wistron will reportedly assemble the console, while SunPlus will concentrate on controller chips.” It’s also possible that “Lite-On will become involved with providing power supplies for the consoles.” It looks like Nintendo is ready to make a real effort to end Wii shortages.
