Nintendo E3 Tomorrow

E3 2009

I’m in so much excitement that I couldn’t put a coherent post title together. Tomorrow marks Nintendo’s E3 keynote address, and I’m giddy with excitement just thinking about the announcements that Nintendo has coming our way. This will mark my second E3 since writing for WiiBlog, and if anything it’s bound to be better than last year. I still have mini-nightmares from the Wii Music demonstration, performed by the Nintendo execs.

That’s all in the past however; now we can look to the present and future. Last year it was all about Wii Remote MotionPlus, and now that its release is nearly here I think this time around it’s going to be about the software. The question then looms, what software are we going to see?

There’s of course the Legend of Zelda or Mario game floating out there but let’s get creative here. Because MotionPlus is something Nintendo is really wanting to push, I think we’re going to see a game announcement that utilizes the technology. I think the two franchises that make the most sense are Zelda…or…how about Star Fox? The lovable space saving fox hasn’t had a console release since way back on the Gamecube. With MotionPlus, Nintendo has a chance to bring Star Fox back to its roots while adding better precision for controls.

This is my own personal hope, but by god I want Luigi’s Mansion 2. This little gem never gets the credit it deserves. Ok, so it pissed off a lot of gamers wanting to see a ‘Mario’ launch game on the Gamecube. I think we can all get over that now, and move on with life. With Wii Remote MotionPlus, a whole new Luigi’s Mansion experience is possible. That’s one ghost busting adventure I’d want to partake in.

Well guys, today is probably going to be one of the longest days of my life. I don’t foresee any major news dropping today, besides the weekly ‘Nintendo Download’ update. If anything does happen, I’m guessing it’s going to be E3 rumors. Which I’ll have up as quick as possible. Also, I should have a live embed of the Nintendo keynote up so be on the lookout for that.
