New “Wiicessory” Wins Best of CES Award

Today Nyko technologies released a statement saying that their Wireless Nunchuck for the Wii had received a “Best of CES” award from the editors of CNET.

Nyko's Wireless Wii Nunchuk
Chris Arbogast, Director of Marketing at Nyko Technologies said the following…

“The nomination for CNET’s ‘Best of CES’ award was an honor in itself, but taking home the award for the gaming category is an even greater privilege. Winning this prestigious award showcases how highly consumers and the tech community think of Nyko’s commitment to advancing gameplay technologies.”

I do have one question though… the “old” wired Nunchuck had the cord that tethered to the Wiimote. So now that this one is wireless what is keeping some overzealous gamer from hurling this control through the air? Is there going to be some sort of strap or other safety harness? Do we need such a thing? Should I stop typing now?

Let me know what you guys think about this latest “Wiicessory”.

I think the nunchuks should’ve been wireless in the first place…a strap would be good though.

  2. Corwin Says:

Unnecessary. But it’s always nice to have the option.

  3. Drew Says:

    Dumb. Pointless. Dangerous. Unnecessary. Useless.

  4. Kathryn Says:

This looks pretty cool. What are the new buttons for? I wonder when it will be on the market to purchase. I for one would not purchase it because a wrist strap is necessary. I know more then one adult (not including the potential of a child) who has thrown thier wiimote into their T.V. from not wearing a wrist strap.

  5. Penda Says:

I can’t wait. Often while boxing that wire from the Nunchuk would get tangled.

  6. Preston Says:

If you’re a big dude with a big wingspan like me this is a necessity. I snapped my self in the face hard enough t leave a welt with that stupid cord dozen times. you just can’t spread your arms out far enough to make things like boxing feel realistic. I feel like I’m boxing inside of a refrigerator.
