New Gameplay Information For Red Steel 2

For many Red Steel 2 is the most anticipated game of the year. It’s the first title to work exclusively with Wii Remote MotionPlus, and actually beat Nintendo to the punch with that. During a Q&A with fans on their forum, we learn a bit more about the upcoming FPS title. Here’s some of the important stuff:

- There will be no run button, as the character’s movement speed is set to run by default. Movement speeds compared to Metroid (Prime 3) are made.

- There will be no crouching of any kind in the game as well. Since this game is more about up front battles, crouching was seen as not needed since it’s a move based on taking cover and hiding.

- The developer hints at, pretty strongly that the ability to mark and kill multiple enemies will be returning to Red Steel 2.

- The block ability will allow players to block bullets using the (A) button. There’s also an active block feature that will give the ability to fire bullets back to the enemies.

Speak of the devil. As I was typing this up, IGN dropped a new Red Steel 2 trailer on us. This one reveals a character named Payne who may or may not be your friend. Enjoy.
