Muscle March – Why Japanese Developed Games Rock

Muscle March

God bless Google Translate. It tries really hard, and for the most part gets the message across when translating languages I have no idea how to read. Take this Famitsu article about the upcoming game Muscle March for example.

Here’s what I believe to be the translated summary of the WiiWare title, and it sounds freaking amazing — “Muscle’s march, is manipulating the character macho, action games catch the thief protein. Thief running in the top will escape with a vacancy for a hole in the wall. Players, Wii hole and take the same pose with a remote control and nunchaku to be chasing a thief through the wall. However, care must be taken because it fails to decrease in stamina and posture. Chasing the thief while maintaining stamina, try a protein.”

Ok, when I first read that I thought that something was going screwy. You chase thieves through holes in the wall by striking muscle-men like poses? Yep, that’s actually an accurate description of the game. Just watch the trailer below and tell me that you don’t want this game to come stateside…

You just don’t see this kind of over-the-top, zany protein nabbing action in games released in the US. I want to be able to strike poses, whilst chasing the thief that stole the protein out of my locker room. Below are images of the heroes, and villains of the game. What a Lost in Space knock-off robot is going to do with protein I have no idea. Perhaps I don’t even want to know.
