Miyamoto on Wii ports

:

Gaming legend Shigeru Miyamoto recently stated that Nintendo’s next-gen console, the Wii, could receive ports of Gamecube titles with enhanced features such as Wii-mote functionality.

Speaking to Nintendo Dream, Miyamoto commented that “The machine [Wii] is based on GC,” he said.

“We’ll be upgrading the development tools, but GameCube code can be used for the most part as is. In that sense, I believe that it would be good to remake GameCube games for Wii, and that some titles would become better with the change to the Wii remote controller.”

Shigsy’s words are also affiliated with rumours that several last-gen Gamecube games, such as Super Papar Mario, could be ported to the new system instead of the Gamecube. Meanwhile, several third party’s, including Activision, have already commited to porting current-gen games to the Wii.
