Midway predict a tie

The console war is in for its closest race ever, that is, according to the folks at Midway.

The firms marketing director, Al King, has predicted that the next-gen war will result in a tie, citing “because all of them are compelling, and all of them have got a slightly different alliance of publishers and developers that are developing content for each one,” King explained.

“You can see the way Nintendo is skewing, and it’s more mainstream, casual, female… Sony’s skew is more hardcore, and Microsoft is left to go in either direction.”

Kings analysis is relatively accurate; Nintendo are afterall hoping to attract a larger demographic with the Wii, catering to non-gamers, much like it has done with the DS.
