Logitech has released a keyboard compatible with the Wii. It will run you about 15 bucks.
According to Tech Gadgets:
The Classic Keyboard 200 will work with Wii systems that have been updated to the latest Wii Menu, version 3.1.
The plug-and-play Classic Keyboard 200 features a spill-resistant design. Thus the hardware is not damaged even in case gamer drops water or coffee while gaming.
“We are pleased to have Logitech’s support and be able to bring yet another keyboard compatible with the Nintendo Wii console,” George Harrison, Nintendo of America’s senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications is quoted as saying.
“Logitech is the perfect partner to support Wii gamers who want to optimize their Wii experience,” he added.

What a fugly piece of equipment … Nintendo should just come out with their own. At least they’d make even more money doing so.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Nintendo puts out their own keyboard.
