Lara Croft, one of the original Playstation’s biggest stars from the 90′s now has an upcoming Wii title called Tomb Raider: Anniversary. Lara Croft’s appearance on the Wii is no huge surprise really. The Tomb Raider series first hopped on to the Nintendo platform back in 2000 when they released a Game Boy Color version of Tomb Raider. Since then, everybody’s favorite femme fatale has been kicking butts and taking names on pretty much all the major platforms (PS2, XBox, 360, PSP, Game Cube). Still, it’s cool to find out we have yet another major license release slated for the Wii.
The senior brand manager for Tomb raider, Kathryn Clements, told the Telegraph ; “The Nintendo Wii is a hugely innovative games console and we wanted to make a special version of Anniversary to appeal to Wii owners.” Which is basically the same thing we’ve been hearing from all kinds of developers, but there’s always room for one more on the Wii bandwagon. Especially for Lara Croft.
