Japan Wii sales update

With the Wii having been available in Japan for almost a month, we thought we’d update you folks on how the white wonder has been performing in its native region as of late.

Good news for Nintendo fans, as the Wii sold 279,277 units this past week, making a total of 823,311 console sold since its launch earlier this year – and yes, as if you needed to ask, it’s already outselling PS3.

So far, internet ramblings are pointing at a total of 3 million Wii’s sold worldwide – quite an achievement to say the least.
