Nintendo executives, including President Satoru Iwata and designer Shigeru Miyamoto, recently sat down to discuss a variety of issues at the company’s Corporate Management Policy Briefing in Japan this week.
Iwata was quick to note on his objections on current game pricing, stating “We believe that each software should have its own price point depending on its volume, theme, contents or energies and time spent for the development, namely, the development costs.
“Once the suggested retail price is announced, we should stick to it,” he added.
Iwata also confirmed that the Wii would launch between October and December, and Nintendo would reveal its price point “in or before September“.
Additionally, Miyamoto announced that “I am enjoying making software right now… [I have been] doing something lately, but I think I need to refrain from talking about it today. Hopefully, I can tell you what it is in six months or so.”
