GamePro points to mention of a report from Japanese video Game publisher Enterbrain’s president Hirokazu Hamamura who claims that 67% of Wiis in Japan are rarely being played anymore; reasoning cited for this being lack of another Wii Sports-style hit.
I have not seen any such statistics of Wii activity in the U.S. or anywhere else, but I have heard a couple people say that they haven’t been playing their Wii’s very much lately.
Has the initial awe of the revolutionary controls worn off already? Perhaps to some that have been lucky enough to own a Wii for a while, but the appeal doesn’t seem to have worn off for all of the people who can’t get their hands on one because they’re never in stock.
It is my opinion that the system is still in its infancy, and as more and more games are developed and released that utilize the Wii Remote controls, any of this so-called “Wii Boredom” will be evaporated.
I do think the upcoming Lego Star Wars game from Lucas Arts will be a pretty big hit. Let’s also not forget that there are 79 games being released for the Wii in this final quarter of the year.
Let’s also not forget that we are two weeks away from the release of MANHUNT 2!!!
What do you guys think? Who’s bored with their Wii?

I don’t know if it’s boredom… I’m just waiting for some specific titles that are a ways off yet. Super Smash Bros, NiGHTS, Mario Kart, Top Spin Tennis…

It’s not so much Wii boredom as it is video game boredom in general. Mario Galaxy ought to fix that!

Yes, I have no doubt that the huge list of upcoming games will get the remotes in the hands.

The issue is not the console but rather the games. There simply isn’t enough interesting titles at the moment; in addition, there seems to be this flood of games suitable for children… give me star wars and okami for the wii and i’ll be happy.

one more thing — have a look at the following games:
Fishing Master - kidsy but addictive
Elebits - another interesting game
My girlfriend and I weren’t really into games until we bought the wii… these games seem to keep our interest
