For some reason I’m all about quirky games today. Just like Mushroom Men, Fragile looks like some great oddball fun. Fragile: Farewell Ruins of the Moon looks to incorporate many different aspects of different genres of gaming.
On all of the “expert” sites, they are claiming that Fragile will be an Action RPG hybird. The trailers I’ve seen so far aren’t haven’t really screamed Action/RPG. In fact the game looks an awful lot like the Fatal Frame IV trailers that have been popping up.
There’s been little official information released about the game, most of it being found on Fragile’s site. Good luck reading it, unless you can read Japanese.
What we do know is that the game will follow the story of Seto. It seems as though Seto, a young boy is one of the last people left on Earth. Fragile will follow his adventure as he explore various locations, looking for clues as to what happened.
From what I’ve been able to find out, the game relies heavy on the ideas of exploration. We know that Seto, will be equipped with both a flashlight, and metal detector. Both items being used to help the player find clues in the world surrounding them. All of these different elements, and the first two trailers really isn’t advertising Fragile as an Action/RPG. Of course who’s to say that the game can’t fit all three genres Action/RPG/Survival Horror into its package.
Alot of times, multi-genre games fail for trying to incorporate too many styles into its overall gameplay. I think if tri-Crescendo is able to pull off the battles by staying in the actual game world they might be able to pull it off. If they do stick to giving the game atmosphere, then loading up an entirely new window to conduct battles would greatly hinder that. Who’s to say what will happen though, considering there have been very few details released on the game.
Here’s the newest trailer to keep you in anticipation.
