Speaking of new games and 3rd party developers… EA Playground executive producer, Dave McCarthy had a chat with the IGN about the upcoming release of EA Playground for both the Wii and the DS. EA Playground is being designed for the Wii and the DS specifically for their unique interface/control schemes - I predict we’ll be hearing this a lot from developers in the near future
With game play expected to have a strong multi player component and be somewhat Wii Sports inspired. I’m thinking something comparable to maybe MonkeyBall - fun single player great multiplayer, lots of variety - -which is cool with me. Dave McCarthy describes it as “an approachable and fun multiplayer party experience that will appeal to all ages.”
When asked about how they chose the games McCarthy said they “put together (a) short list based on fun factor, approachability, multiplayer appeal, and the opportunity for control innovation. ” Notice there was no reference made to vertex shaded trilinear pixleated graphic specular processing gigatexture blah blah blah. Instead, we have words like fun factor, approachability, appeal and innovation. Sweet. Not that I don’t want my fire to look good… but good looking fire will only take a game so far.

the wii company needs to immetiately make new games starting now … im getting really borded of it and im tied of playing these little kid games, they makes me sick …i hope someware in the long run they will be smart enough to start making games for grown ups, we play games to ya know! and there is one thing that ticks me off sports games will be alot more fun for the wii than with any other system… part of the reason why is because its more of a interactive game. baseball ,tenis, golf ,ect are fun to play on the demo disk that comes with it. EA sports sould diffinatly start makeing some sort of nogotiation ,and start makeing some seriouse money ..no system will be able to do what the wii sytem dose because of the sensory
