Electronic Arts turned up its nose at the Wii, choosing to focus on Xbox 360 and PS3 game development. Oops.
GamerSquad has been gleefully tweaking Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello after the EA overlord admitted the company missed out on seeing the rise of the Wii:
“One of the biggest challenges, of course, was that not a lot of people anticipated the success of Nintendo that they’ve shown with their wand controller and their Wii. That got ahead of us a little more than our expectations.”
They’ll try to make up for lost time with a Casual Games division, which EA established in June.

It’s unfortunate that EA didn’t have the foresight to see the Wii as a contender in the next-gen console market.
It was a sad day when I found out that NCAA Football 08 wouldn’t be available on the Wii.
