Dawn of War creator speaks Wii

:

The Wii’s lack of graphical muscle has apparently rendered the machine unsuitable for War Hammer: Dawn of War creators, Relic Entertainment.

Speaking to Eurogamer on expanding the frachise to next-gen platforms, studio boss Ron Moravek suggested that the Wii isn’t as well suited to the company’s next-gen plans.

“We make more mature-rated games, and more high-end graphical games, and the Wii is going in a little bit of a different direction; they’re not going to play the same game as the 360 and the PS3,” Moravek insisted.

“You never know - if we came up with something cool we could do it, but right now our plan is not to… You can’t do the same types of games on the Wii because the power is a lot different. It’s a different type of technology.”

Conceivably, the Wii’s graphical limitations could very well be justified, although the appearance of a mature title shouldn’t be classified as any reason not to support the system. Perhaps Relic should look to Red Steel, Sadness and Resident Evil Wii to see for themselves?
