Castlevania Wii Game In The Works?
If there’s one game series that I have been salivating in anticipation for a Wii release; it’s Castlevania. Ever since I slid my first Castlevania cartridge in my 8-bit NES, I was hooked. A lot of gaming series will fizzle out, and make lesser quality titles than the originals. Castlevania has only improved in terms of game quality and story throughout the years.
Castlevania Has Been One Of The Most Consistent Game Series Of All Time
So, fast forward to this morning, when I read this article, by CVG.com. Apparently, there is a Castlevania comic in the works that will be releasing sometime late August. To coincide with comics release, there will be two games along with it. One is a DS title, which has been announced for sometime. But on the information page of the comic book, they are announcing a Wii game to release alongside as well. So far there have been no details or official announcements from Konami.
The fact there have been no major details given yet has me a bit worried. My main concern is that they will just be releasing an older title on the Wii’s Virtual Console. This wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing, but I really would like to see a “made for Wii” Castlevania game.
So are you all fans of the Castlevania series? Are you pretty stoked to hear about this news, or are you going to stay skeptical until Konami releases something official?

I will preface this by saying that I am a huge Castlevania fan as well, and would love to see a new Castlevania game for the Wii. In addition, I’d really love to see Bloodlines for the Genesis get released on VC. That’s probably my personal favorite CV game (Hey, CV on the VC.. lol).
That said, I think that you and I are in the minority on Castlevania. Most fans consider Symphony to be the pinnacle, with the N64 Legacy of Darkness being the red-headed stepchild of the series. The PS2 games I enjoyed, but unless you’re a fan, they could be considered a bit mediocre.
The GBA and DS games, on the other hand, have all been very well-received. I just hope the Wii version doesn’t borrow too heavily from the PS2 games.

oh that’s not spam at all…it would be freaking amazing.. im pretty sure if whip motions were put in this game, i’d over dramatize and end up like those fools who have wii remotes lodged in their TVs

i’d like to see a Castlevannia game come out on the Wii. I don’t think they’ll just release a VC game because there’s a few of them on there already (I own CV4).
hopefully something real will come from this ‘rumor’

I’m a newer fan (My first game was DoS), but I’ve become a rabid fan (Infact, I’m currently trying to hunt down some of the GBA games).
A Wii game would be great though. I’m ravenous for Order of Ecclesia, and after having to put up with them saying, “Oh, only wimps who play for 5 seconds love Wii”, it’s nice to feel the love.
