Article Stolen and New Captain Rainbow Screens
Well I definitely am having a case of the Mondays (gotta love Office Space references). I was perusing N4G to see if any news happened over the weekend that would be worth mentioning. I was aghast when I saw a familiar looking article with the title, “Great 5 Nintendo Wii Game Port Ideas”. I was excited at first when I thought that my Top 5 list from last Friday was on N4G. When I clicked on the article I was shocked to find it led to another website. The article was a piss poor summarization of my article, but no foul; because there would be a via or reference link, right? No, the owner of Varologic.com evidently feels ideas that aren’t his can be used without reference. Anyway, the dilemma is over and I posted the real link, to the real story….so moving on.
Captain Rainbow is one title that I’m praying makes it from Japan to America. With its quirkiness, and heavy emphasis on rainbows it’s a long shot. If you haven’t been keeping up, Captain Rainbow has a genius plot. The character is obviously Captain Rainbow, but will also feature his Clark Kent alter-ego Nick. The Captain has a hit TV show in the land of Mameruka. Due to some recent style choices for the show, the ratings have been tanking. In an effort to bring the show back to its former glory Captain Rainbow/Nick travel to Mimin Island, where washed up Nintendo mascots live. When he gets there he finds the island in disarray and it’s up to the tv star/super hero to save the day. So anyway here are some new screens from N-Europe.com(see how easy it is to reference someone?).
So there you have it, all two of you besides me that have been keeping up with Captain Rainbow announcements. I know it isn’t Friday, but I figured I would make a mini-list of other washed up mascots I’d like to see in Captain Rainbow.

So let’s hear it from people excited about Captain Rainbow. What washed up Nintendo characters would you like to see show up, maybe make a reality show return?
Though they are probably not going to include many other Zelda related people, I would love to see a mushroom-munching Tarin from Link’s Awakening. I think he was quite quirky enough to warrant an appearance in a game like this.
Are the possibilities great that they may even include a reference to a Chibi-Robo character like Drake Redcrest (who just so happens to be a superhero of sorts)?
As quirky as Captain Rainbow looks to be, I think any game character is possible to show up. Tarin would be a good fit, along with Redcrest. As a sidekick perhaps?
