Industry analysts The Yankee Group have predicted a somewhat lacklustre market share for the Wii in North America.
Analysts forecast that Sony and Microsoft will acquire a market share of roughly 44 and 40 per cent respectively, leaving Nintendo’s next-gen console with only a 16% share in North America by 2011.
In terms of hardware sales, the group predict the console will sell around 11 million units, which is a somewhat unremarkable lead over the Gamecube. Meanwhile, the PS3 is expected to sell 30 million units, with the Xbox 360 eclipsing a mark of around 27 million.
