Nintendo of America hired two new executives today in the marketing and “special assignment” departments. One of them was formerly the chief marketing officer for Yahoo. They will be based in Nintendo’s new Silicon Valley office.
Play.tm reports that PS3 sales are rivaling Wii sales in Europe, which comes as a bit of a surprise since PS3 sales have been lagging so much in recent memory. Xbox sales have fallen behind.
According to USA Today, Nintendo said that profits more than doubled in the six months to September 30 based on Wii and DS success. This isn’t much of a surprise since it is still hard to find a Wii for sale in stores.
Sega will be releasing a new version of musical game Samba De Amigo for the Wii. Samba De Amigo originally came out on the short-lived Sega Dreamcast. In the Wii version, players will shake the remote and nunchuk like maracas. Sounds exhilarating.
