1 million Wii’s sold

Nintendo’s Wii console has reached the 1 million sales mark worldwide, we can confirm.

Confirmed by president Iwata this week at the Foreign Correspondents Club (FCC), the Wii has sold 600,000 units in North America, and a further 400,000 in its native Japan.

Can Nintendo repeat the same success for the European market? With the consoles launch in PAL territories kicking off tomorrow, it won’t be long before we find out.
